Omega 3 May Help Win The Battle of The Bulge

Almost daily stories crop up in the newspapers and tabloids on how to get rid of belly fat. What they rarely print is that Omega 3 can help you win that battle. A diet rich in omega 3 will not eliminate the fat all by itself but it is an additional benefit. Apart from eating well, doing a bit of weight lifting, and reducing the amount of your alcohol intake, omega 3 may help that stomach bulge.

Doing 100 sit ups a day won’t give you a flat stomach. You may require more pain killers to ease your sore back but your stomach will still have the bulge. It’s fat that makes up the bulge. If you strengthen your stomach muscles, it will help pull that fat in a bit but not eliminate it entirely. Doing more over all training can help to get them stronger. Squats and weight lifting can help to make your body stronger. You tend to walk tall, when you’re strong and will find that you may be pulling your stomach in a little instead of letting it hang out.

You need to be a bit more active in order to shed the flab around your waistline. Doing the weight lifting will help, but active people are thinner then couch potatoes. Take a walk after dinner to start. A 15 minute walk 3 days a week will really help get you started. After that, you may feel like adding a little jog to your walk. You’re sure to find it quite addictive.

Your overweight problems can be addressed by healthy eating habits. We really prefer not to cut out foods from our diet but need to. Eating junk food all through the day, it will only help you build that bulge, and not shrink it.

Many people prefer low carbohydrate diet. Cutting out the carbohydrates will help you knock off some of that extra flab. Don’t eliminate all your carbs. They give us energy. Reducing the consumption of potatoes, bread, pasta and rice and substituting them with brown rice, oats, whole grain pasta will help.

Don’t forget your fruits and vegetables. Eating low carb vegetables are the best. Fruits like bananas, oranges, and apples are always a good choice. They are ideal for the late night kitchen raid.

Inclusion of proteins in the diet is also very important. Eat more meat comprising of the omega 3 fat. Add fish to your menu twice or thrice a week plus chicken, eggs, cottage cheese and some lean cuts of meat.

Next we come to the fats. We all know that fats are bad for us, right? That’s what we have been told for over 45 years or so. Now hear this, not all fats are bad for you. You do need some fat in your diet. Fats rich in omega 3, that we get from eating fatty fish are excellent for us. Getting more omega 3 into your diet if by consuming more fish or taking supplements will raise the level of your testosterone and help you to loose fat. You could start by taking omega 3 thrice a day. You do need to leave the other fats, the trans-fatty ones like butter out of your diet or only use at a minimum. They will help you keep that bulge.

These are just some of the tips on how you can shed that belly fat. It’s a good start. You need to build strength, eat better adding omega 3 to your daily intake, do a bit of cardio work out 3 days a week, and cut back on your alcohol. Do all of this, and you are on your way to a flatter stomach.

Urinary Incontinence Treatment for Natural Bladder Control

I’ve been a biofeedback therapist for years and have worked with hundreds of people who have problems with bladder control and overactive bladder but this client, Frank, was one of the most interesting cases I worked with using basic bladder training techniques.

Frank, a live-in parent of my friends had an overactive bladder problem. His daughter – in-law, Joy and his son, Ted, were in a state of panic as they’re concerned with the old man’s situation. Frank was significantly depressed, he wasn’t eating well or even bathing regularly, his weight was going up more each week and he was over 400 pounds by the time they came to see me. There was a bigger problem however, as Frank wouldn’t use any bladder control products and he had a severe problem with overactive bladder.

Frank leaks in his pants, worse, sometimes even the floors, the furnitureand most of the time in his bed. He was too obese to be much of a housecleaner so he kept his bedroom door shut to conceal the problem. Another problem is that the urinal is too small for Frank as he is too obese to be able to reach down and get it in place. His solution: “hang it out the window”, but it’s the window sill that catches the leak instead.

Frank’s problem caused Joy and Ted’s frequent fighting, and a divorce was already in the offing – just because of the stink in the house cause by an overactive bladder. Frank’s stubbornness not to use bladder control medications was making it worse. They have tried medications not only for overactive bladder but also for men with prostrate problems, but to no avail. The reason why – Frank refuses to use medications anymore.

Migraines – Types And Its Treatment

A migraine, despite popular belief, isn’t simply a type of headache. Instead, migraines are a disease, with headaches being one of the main symptoms. During a migraine episode, cranial blood vessels both expand and narrow, causing a great deal of pain. The tissue surrounding the brain also becomes inflamed, compounding the pain into something even more severe.

A headache caused by a migraine is often among the most severe of headaches. The pain is both extreme and immobilizing. While it often begins with dull aching, it gradually evolves into pounding pain. The pain can feel as though it’s only on one side, or it can feel like the entire head is under duress. It can even feel as though it’s alternating among several different areas.

The pain tends to peak and then subside, but its point of climax can vary. Some people may have a migraine for four hours, while others may have one for three days. The same can be said for the frequency at which migraines appear. Some people may have only one or two in their entire lifetime, while other people may average three or four a week.

Types of Migraines

The two types of migraines are differentiated by the symptoms that signal their approach. A migraine with aura, also known as a classic migraine, is a migraine that involves a physiological sign that a migraine is imminent. These warning signs usually occur within an hour of the migraine and last for a few minutes up to a full hour. They can include seeing bright flashing light, loss of vision (particularly peripheral vision), blind spots, inability of the eyes to focus, ringing in the ears, a funny taste in the mouth, or just an overall strange feeling.

Migraines without aura, also known as a common migraine, occur more often. While these don’t typically possess the warning signs of the classic migraine, most people who get common migraines are given a vague indication that they’re coming. A person may feel anxious, depressed, or generally tired for several hours prior to a common migraine.

Treatment of Migraines

The first is the simplest of all the treatments, it is applying hot or cold clothes to your head. This is a little tricky in that for some it is hot that is better and for others it is cold that is, but the good news is that once you know which helps you, it is consistently the same.

Scientists have yet to discover a cure for migraines. But, treatment of them is available. Many people find that over-the-counter pain medication, abortive medications, and preventive medications all help to relieve discomfort. Biofeedback, a form of therapy that helps people deal more adequately with stressful situations, may also be helpful.

People who notice that certain behaviors cause more frequent migraines may benefit from keeping a headache diary, and noting what they eat, drink, and do in the hours directly preceding a migraine. This may help people to become aware of migraine triggers, ultimately giving them the ability to avoid these triggers in the future.

And, just as getting adequate rest, eating well, and getting regular exercise can alleviate many health problems, these three factors can also help migraines occur much less often.

Bikram Yoga For Getting In Shape

Bikram yoga is a dynamic, vigorous form of yoga which is help in a room that is heated.
